Test device for quantification with toothbrushes ISO 14569

The ISO 14569-1 standard addresses the abrasion of dental materials by toothbrushes. Dental samples are moved under the toothbrush with a defined cleaning force in the X and Y directions by a motor control system. Various curved paths, straight movements, circular motions, Z-movements, or figure-eight motions are possible. The cleaning force is applied by weights and can be adjusted independently for each station. The distance and angle of the filaments to the sample surface are easily adjustable via controls. During the cleaning process, a toothpaste mixture is pumped over the brushes. Each sample is immersed in the toothpaste mixture in a sample chamber. A collection tray, designed for easy cleaning, is located beneath the sample chamber. The test rig is controlled by a PLC and features a touchscreen for inputting test parameters. The cleaning motion (curved path), stroke, speed, and number of cleaning cycles can be adjusted. Its compact design makes this test rig ideal for laboratory use.

The energized resilient seat design provides bidirectional zero-leakage shutoff throughout the full pressure range to deliver quality, value and reliability in the most demanding applications. The pressure-assisted sealing is energized by line media pressure, providing a tighter seal in higher differential pressure services. The optional fire-safe seat design consists of the standard bidirectional resilient seat assembly with added Inconel® metal seat. A true optional metal seat design for control application is also available as well as a high-cycle configuration that has been rigorously tested to 1 million cycles.
