ASME U3

U3 stamp is used for high-pressure vessels. The pressure vessels in question must meet the guidelines laid out in Section VIII Division 3 of the BPVC code.

ASME

ASME UV

The UV stamp is specifically for the certification of the assembly of pressure relief valves. This is per the BPVC’s section VIII guides.

ASME
ASME U

ASME U

ASME U stamp certifies that a manufacturer has met the quality control requirements laid out by the ASME Boiler and Vessel Code, specifically Section VIII Division 1. A Manufacturer that holds this stamp is permitted to design, inspect, fabricate, and test unfired pressure vessels.

ASME
ASME U2

ASME U2

U2 stamp will require you to meet Section VIII Division 2 of the BPVC guidelines. This is an alternative to the U stamp but broadly has the same purpose.

ASME

ASME UD

ASME UD stamp is the code given to pressure relief devices. This code is issued to a ruptured or bursting disk, that complies with the BPVC guidelines. When issued, this stamp shows that the product in question has been thoroughly safety and quality tested.

ASME
ASME UM

ASME UM

The UM stamp is for miniature pressure vessels. These stamps are issued to pressure vessels with a smaller volume to show compliance with BPVC’s guidelines.

ENERGY STAR®

The ENERGY STAR® program was developed by the U.S. Federal government to encourage the use of energy-efficient products. The program sets requirements for a wide range of products to qualify to display the ENERGY STAR mark. It approves certification bodies to evaluate products and award the mark. SRCC is approved by the U.S. EPA to certify solar water heaters to the ENERGY STAR Residential Water Heater Specification. Certification is available to manufacturers of solar water heating systems for residential applications who have signed up to become ENERGY STAR partner organizations. The eligibility requirements set by the current Version 5.0 specification are summarized here.

OG-100

OG-100

The ICC-SRCC OG-100 Solar Thermal Collector Certification Program for solar thermal collectors assesses compliance with the ICC 901/SRCC 100 standard. Published by ICC and ICC-SRCC, the standard sets minimum safety, durability and performance requirements for many types of solar thermal collectors used for fluids like water, glycol and air. Compliance with ICC 901/SRCC 100 is required in most building codes in use throughout North America such as the IBC, IRC, IMC and IPC model codes and the California Energy Code (Title 24, Part 6). OG-100 certification also requires testing to measure the performance of solar collectors and references the internationally accepted test methods like the ISO 9806 and ISO 9459 standards. By using these internationally recognized test methods, manufacturers can minimize the need to retest to gain certification in different global markets. And many OG-100 certification holders are eligible to obtain the SOLERGY eco-label - without retesting. OG-100 certification reports display the measured performance using standardized ratings that make it easy to compare collectors on an equal basis. Click here to learn more about OG-100 certificates. So designers and consumers can make educated choices. And SRCC provides all current OG-100 certificates in our publicly available, searchable online directory. Incentive programs, building codes and regulations throughout North America recognize OG-100 certifications and performance ratings. OG-100 certification can be used to meet the requirements of many Federal, state, local, and utility and programs that provide rebates and incentives for solar water and air heating products in both the U.S. and Canada. OG-300

OG-300

The ICC-SRCC OG-300 Solar Water Heating System Certification Program provides proof of compliance for solar water heating systems to the current ICC 901/SRCC 300 standard. This standard is widely referenced by building codes, standards and incentive programs throughout North America. U.S. Federal tax credits, EPA ENERGY STAR® programs, the California Energy Code (Title 24), National Green Building Standard (ICC 700) and many others rely on OG-300 certifications. OG-300 certification not only ensures that solar water heaters meet minimum requirements for safety and durability, but also provides objective energy ratings customized for nearly 200 locations throughout North America. This allows the performance of different models and types of solar water heaters to be compared directly and consistently. OG-300 performance ratings are used by many incentive programs and tax credits seeking to save energy and cut emissions. Engineers and designers use OG-300 performance ratings with a variety of modeling tools to integrate solar water heaters into green buildings. For consumers, designers and architects, the ICC-SRCC OG-300 directory is often their first stop to find and compare solar water heaters to meet their project needs. OG-500

OG-500

The ICC-SRCC OG-500 Thermal Energy Storage Device Certification Program evaluates a range of different technologies used to store thermal energy for a variety of applications. It was launched to first address indirect storage tanks used to store heated fluids in various solar thermal systems (commonly known as solar tanks). But it is also available to certify other thermal storage device types. For solar tanks, OG-500 first confirms compliance with the requirements in the ICC 903/SRCC 500 standard. It sets minimum safety and durability design requirements and tests for these tanks that are used as components in indirect water heating systems (not stand-alone water heating tanks). It references and works closely with established standards like UL 174 and ANSI Z21.10.1/CSA 4.1, but expands on them to address unique characteristics in solar tanks. These include: Direct and indirect tanks (with or without integral heat exchangers), Pressurized and unpressurized tanks, Tanks designed for indoor and outdoor use in unprotected areas, Tanks with integrated supplemental heaters (gas, electric, other fuels) OG-500 certification of solar tanks includes both qualifying tests in the main body of the standard and performance tests in Appendix A of the document. OG-500 certifications for solar tanks include performance metrics like standby loss coefficients, thermal energy storage capacity and heat transfer efficiency of integral heat exchangers. OG-500 certification provides one means of complying with the requirements in the ICC 900/SRCC 300 standard and OG-300 program for solar water heating systems that solar tanks be listed. And their standardized performance ratings provide the key performance values designers need to implement them successfully in many different types of indirect water heating systems. While OG-500 certified tanks can be used as part of solar thermal systems, they can also be used in indirect heating systems using sources like gas boilers, air-water or water-water heat pumps, biomass boilers and more. As new standards and test methods are completed for other thermal energy storage devices, the scope of the OG-500 program will be expanded to include them. Areas of anticipated future expansion include thermal brick energy storage appliances and phase-change energy storage systems. For buyers of industrial storage rack systems, ensuring structural integrity and code compliance is essential. Both factors are critical not only for performance, but also for safety. One of the most effective ways to ensure that a rack system meets these key requirements is by looking for the Rack Manufacturers Institute’s (RMI) R-Mark certification.

UL Listed

UL Listed

The UL Listed Mark is a tier of UL approval for stand-alone consumables that have undergone rigorous testing by Underwriters Laboratories. UL Listed means the product: Meets nationally recognized standards for sustainability and safety. Is free from reasonably foreseeable risks of electric shock or fire in a Division 2 environment with ignitable concentrations. A UL listed product helps objectively verify the safety of many consumer items under normal wear and tear that comes with everyday use. This peace of mind is an advantage for the consumer, as they can be confident in the safety of their product, and the manufacturer because the UL Listed Mark improves your brand image and accountability.
