The Volscan Profiler is a benchtop laser-based scanner that measures the volume, density and dimensional profiles of solid products. Why choose a Volscan Profiler Measure more than volume The rapid 3-dimensional digitisation of products enables the automatic calculation of volume, density and dimensions of solid products as standard. Additional measurements include surface area, height, width, length and weight etc. The results may then be mathematically manipulated for immediate use or future retrieval in a variety of data formats. Fast and accurate In as little as 22 seconds manufacturers have precise data about their products in order to control and monitor their production. World class data analysis software Our powerful, feature-rich software comes as standard. Best of all, free updates are included for the lifetime of your instrument. Find out more More accurate than the outdated seed displacement method Traditionally, volume measurements of baked products have been obtained by the technique of seed displacement, in which the amount of rape seed or pearl barley packing around the loaf in a standard container is measured. Whilst this method has been universally recognised for decades as indicative of baking quality, it is now considered primitive, inaccurate, tedious and laborious. Repeated calibration, operator dependence, loss of rapeseed due to spillage/adherence of seeds to the product or to static electricity, seed clumping due to moisture absorption, periodic sieving of the seed to remove food crumbs, the potential crushing of soft products and the manual recording of results are the common drawbacks affecting both the efficiency and the accuracy of the measurement. Besides offering rapid 3-dimensional digitisation of products, it has the ability to measure objects that, due to their texture or size, was not possible with seed displacement. Soft, thin or brittle products with vulnerable structure due to toppings, or being easily altered by the compressive nature of seed displacement are easily mounted on the Volscan Profiler by a variety of supporting pins. Safer than alternative/outdated methods Mercury displacement techniques represent a toxic risk to the environment and are therefore illegal in many countries. The Volscan Profiler has been verified as accurate as mercury displacement method. X-ray techniques are expensive and present a health and safety issue and therefore require fully trained operators. The Volscan Profiler uses an eye-safe laser and therefore is the safest procedure for density determination. More versatile than other methods Fluid displacement techniques are not suitable for porous materials. The Volscan Profiler is a non-contact laser-based measurement that is not affected by sample porosity. Gas displacement techniques usually measure very small samples or otherwise attract a high instrument price. The Volscan Profiler has the largest measurement envelope in its class

Atmospheric electrical discharges during thunderstorms are responsible for a considerable number of loses. Some statistics count these accidents in tens of thousands each year. Material damages caused by lightning bolts are also costly and sometimes lead to a partial or total shutdown of essential activities. The definition and application of preventive action protocols when there’s risk of lightning strikes, as well as the increasing use of thunderstorm warning systems, are helping to significantly reduce the number of accidents related to this natural phenomenon. PREVISTORM® Thunderstorm Warning System (TWS) is a high-performance storm detection system. It continuously monitors the electrification processes of storm clouds and, based on the collected data, generates early warnings that allow the user to know about the risk of lightning strikes. The data provided by this system informs as well about the occurrence of lightning strikes within a radius of up to 20km. The information and alarms provided by PREVISTORM® provide a valuable time advantage for timely activation of security and protection measures for individuals and property. Characteristics PREVISTORM® Thunderstorm Warning System allows information from electric field strength sensors to be integrated with information from lightning bolts detection and location networks. The sensor used by this system, PREVISTORM® E-Field Sensor, operates under the principle of the "electric field mill" to continuously measure the intensity of the atmospheric electric field. The real-time processing methods and algorithms included in this system allow the user to determine when the risk of lightning strikes occurrence increases or decreases. The operating parameters that control the generation of alarms, as well as the calibration of the sensor according to the installation site, are fully customizable. PREVISTORM® has an unmatched degree of adaptability in terms of performance, components and operational characteristics, and can be used both as an autonomous system and as part of other more complex integrative systems. PREVISTORM® Thunderstorm Warning System also supports two to five isolated relay outputs (depending on the configuration) that allow, among other actions, for the activation of light and acoustic signals. The software included in the system allows for the configuration of several independent signaling patterns that enable to differentiate the start and end moments from the periods of high risk of lightning strike occurrence. Advantages: Provides information about the existence of risk of lightning strike before the first discharge occurs. Helps determine the time of completion of the thunderstorm based on the risk of lightning strike occurrence. Contributes to ensure the protection of lives and material goods by generating reliable decision-making support information in the implementation of preventive measures. Provides more accurate measurements than those provided by other storm detectors. Detects atmospheric discharges within its detection radius. Counts with a mechanical design that guarantees greater immunity to rain noise and facilitates its installation. A model of the sensor with heating system to prevent freezing and facilitate thaw is available, which is highly suitable to use in locations where snow accumulation makes it impossible to work with other types of system. Designed in accordance with the international standard IEC 62793:2020, Protection against lightning – Thunderstorm warning systems. A set of accessories and elements to facilitate its adaptation to the requirements and needs of virtually any project is available. Allows for the control of other external devices such as signalers, alarms and automations through the relay outputs of the electric field sensor and the display console. Sensor relay outputs are programmable, making it possible to generate sequential activation and deactivation patterns for controlled external devices. Supplied with PREVISTORM® Viewer software, which integrates information from multiple ray detection and location networks, simultaneously controls multiple sensors, integrates and controls various auxiliary devices for the integration of more complex and complete systems. This software also facilitates the storage of data in log files for auditing and the creation of lightning alarm data distribution networks.

The specific function of INGESCO® PDC lightning rod with ESE is producing an upward stream of ionized particles that will channel the eventual electrical discharge from its origin. There is a difference in the electrical potential between the discharger (that has the same potential as the air around it) and both the air terminal tip and the deflection ensemble (they have the same potential as Earth). This difference increases as atmospheric potential becomes higher because of the imminent lightning strike. Knowing the value of this difference Δt allows us to make a relation between the time and propagation speed of the electrical discharge, and, consequently, to calculate the lightning impact distance and the protection radium that offers each lightning rod model (see table below). Knowing this value allows for the selection of the most appropriate lightning rod model taking into account the characteristics of the structure we want to protect and the level of protection needed according to the norms UNE 21186:2011, NFC 17-102:2011, and NP4426:2013. Characteristics The capture terminal of INGESCO® PDC fits the following technical specifications: It has a double ESE (Early Streamer Emission) system. An early streamer device that produces the upward emission. An electro atmospheric condenser. An atmospheric accelerator. An insulation system certified by the General Testing & Research Laboratory of the Generalitat of Catalunya (LGAI). An external structure made from stainless steel AISI 316L. Early Streamer Emission system made from stainless steel AISI 316L and polyamide PA66. Its effective operation in any atmospheric condition and environment is thus guaranteed.
